On September 10, 2014 Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, in partnership with the State Office of Industrial Property of the Republic and General Administration Patent and Trademark Office of the Republic of Albania, celebrated the opening of the Info Point Center in Tetovo, which will function within the project “Protection of the trademark products of cross-border cooperation”, implemented within the 3rd call for cross-border cooperation between Macedonia and Albania under the IPA Programme 2007-2013 funded by the European Union.
The opening ceremony of the National Institute of Industrial Property of the Republic of Macedonia participated fifth member delegation, led by state-owned industrial advisor, Mr. Ali Asani. Also, the ceremony was attended by representatives from member companies , universities, mayors of Tetovo and Tearce, and representatives of the EU Delegation in Skopje.
This project will be implemented in Pollog and southwestern region of Macedonia, which will include the cities of Tetovo, Gostivar, Debar, Kicevo, Ohrid and Struga, as by Albania, the cities of the regions of Korca and Dibra. The project started to be implemented on 2 June 2014 and will run until 2 December 2015, for a total of 18 months.
The overall objective of this project is to contribute to increasing competition on the business of cross-border region through the promotion and protection of trademarks and patents in Macedonia and Albania. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness of domestic companies the importance of protecting their innovation and protection of trademarks for their products.
The opening ceremony ended with the cutting of the ribbon to open the Info Point Center in Tetovo.
