India Joins Three Key WIPO International Classification Treaties
India has joined three WIPO treaties designed to ease the search for trademarks and industrial designs, helping brand owners and designers in their efforts to obtain protection for their own work. The accessions underline India’s strong multilateral engagement with the World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO Director General Francis Gurry said.

The Czech company Crefoport s.r.o has become the two millionth EU trade mark applicant at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Crefoport s.r.o. is a business consultancy based in Prague, which has been assisting both Czech and international companies to manage credit risks since 1993.

Precedential Patent Case Decision – AVX Corporation v. Presidio Components, Inc.
This is decision on appeal from PTAB case IPR2016-00636. The PTAB held that AVX had failed to establish unpatentability of some claims (“upheld claims”). AVX appealed. The Federal Circuit concluded that AVX lacked standing, and dismissed.
