On 8 and 9 October 2014 the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office will organise in Ljubljana, in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) a regional event on good governance and efficient operations of collective management organizations in the field of copyright and related rights in form of a 2 day conference.
The goal of this regional event is in sharing best practice in the field of collective management organisations (CMOs). We will compare national experiences in the region and understand how different national regulations work and how they are implemented in practice. Efficient and transparent CMOs represent a cornerstone of national IP infrastructure.
In addition to experts from national authorities we plan to ensure presence of WIPO expert for the topic and an expert of the European Commission in charge of the Directive 2014/26/EU on collective management of copyright and related rights and multi-territorial licensing of rights in musical works for online use in the internal market.
