9 October 2015
Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie
de région Rhône-Alpes (CCIR)
32, Quai Perrache, Lyon, France
09.30 – 16.30 hrs
This year, the European Patent Office (EPO) and China’s State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their bilateral co‑operation. To mark this occasion, an international symposium is being organised in Lyon (FR), in partnership with the CCIR (chamber of commerce and industry for the Rhône-Alpes region).
Lyon, with its long tradition in the printing and silk industries, has played a pioneering role in disseminating Chinese culture in Europe since the Renaissance. To this day, China remains an important economic partner of France’s second city.
High-level Chinese intellectual property representatives and European experts from industry and the patent world will meet to share their experiences and discuss how patents can be used as strategic business tools in Chinese and European markets. The one-day symposium will review the progress made in IP generally and patents in particular.
The previous evening, on 8 October 2015, there will be a reception – exclusively for symposium participants – in the Hôtel de Ville (Lyon’s town hall). The number of places is limited.
Subjects to be discussed are:
– EPO-SIPO co-operation and the harmonisation of the global patent system
– 30th anniversary of bilateral co-operation EPO-SIPO
– Opportunities and challenges in the development of the patent system
– Patent rights in support of business strategies and operations in China
