An OHIM team was in Athens for two weeks, working with both Greek offices to prepare the Back Office project. As the pilots near completion in Finland and Poland, 10 other intellectual property offices are getting ready to follow. These include Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, BOIP, Greece GGE, Greece OBI, Malta, Slovenia, Romania, and Spain.
Both Greek offices, Finland, Poland and Malta have committed to going live during the remainder of 2014.
The Back Office for trademarks is already in use as a parallel in both Poland and Finland. Poland is expected to go live with both trademarks and designs during the summer, and a team from the CF was also onsite in Warsaw.
The Cooperation Fund Back Office project includes the basic operating requirements for an IP office, covering workflow, file and dossier management plus a range of other elements. The Cooperation Fund was set up in 2010 to create state of the art tools and solutions for EU IP offices and individual users accross Europe.
