The Slovenian Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), with the support of EUIPO’s European Cooperation Projects and within the framework of the ‘ECP5 Project Management Certification for IP Offices’ project, recently became the first office to set up a Project Management Office (PMO).
This initiative not only develops strong in-house project management capabilities within IPOs by ensuring that competences are captured, documented and managed on an organisational level, but also promotes best practices that can be reused and shared across projects and among current and future staff.
It also provides an overview of a portfolio of projects at any given time, allowing for more effective management and decision making.
In total, the EUIPO and its stakeholders are collaborating on five major European Cooperation Projects, with the main aim of benefiting users across the EU by providing modern, state-of-the-art tools and services for EU IP offices.
