The inventor has conceptualized a new design and functionality of a safety chute (or
escape chute).
This escape chute consists of a simple fastening method to the roof railing or parapet or to a window. The actual chute is made up of a number of segments constructed out of fire proof/water proof material with an elastic flexible push-through ring at the end of each segment . Each segment is connected to the other by means of ‘C’ hooks.
A number of these segments could be connected together depending on the height of the building or the structure from which one is to escape. Each segment also has a view piece so that the person escaping can have a view outside the segment.
The way this works is – once the required number of segments are attached, the
Complete chute assembly is suspended over the building from the parapet or the window or any other escape outlet. Each person enters the chute and ‘pushes’
themselves through the „push through flexible ring“ inside each segment so that
they do not free-fall. This also gives a sense of security to people suffering from
fear of heights and who cannot climb down ladders or other escape systems.
