As a part of the Pula Film Festival on July 20, hosted a discussion on the issues of copyrighted audiovisual performances.
Pula Film Festival is organized by the Association of Croatian directors and is sponsored by the Croatian Patent Office.
Discussed issues of copyright movies. It’s not so much a single royalty for the implementation of the agreed work, and for royalties for subsequent use movies as those of which the owner is a known and those that are “unknown”. In Croatia, the authors generally do not own the copyright, because more or less forced to sign contracts that, give up all claims for redistribution.
Give a concrete example directors Lord Zafranovich and Rajko Grlic said that twenty years have received anything from showing their films on television and elsewhere in Croatia.
In conclusion it was stated that HRT (Croatian national TV) should regulate audiovisual copyrights. To everything may still be brought into line there should be consistency of Croatian music industry and art, whose authors by ZAMP (Croatian Society for collective management of copyright) receive royalties each year.
