CLDP reports about the April Seminar on the WTO Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) for Obligations and International Best Practices in Public Procurement in Yerevan which was organized together with the WTO Secretariat, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Ministry of Finance of Armenia. According to CLDP, the program of the event was focused on Armenia’s rights and obligations as per the WTO GPA and also on GPA’s “role, principles, and transparency requirements, procedural obligations, and procurement opportunities”. The main participants were the WTO Secretariat, a U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Specialist, Trade Consultant and Senior Procurement Negotiator with the Office of the United States Trade Representative.
The event included also 2 days of trainings after the Seminar, which were focused on GPA related procedural issues and implementation regarding Armenia such as trade agreements and procurement.
