EPO reported the Meeting in Mexico City of the heads of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) and the European Patent Office (EPO) where they concurred to increase their co-operation supporting innovation.
There was also a meeting between the EPO President Benoît Battistelli, the Minister of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, representatives of Mexican and European industry, and the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM), which was focused on ways of improvement of the patent system as well.
The EPO President reflected the importance of the IMPI-EPO partnership and experience sharing as key for business development and innovation in Mexico. Therefore The Mexican Institute of Industrial Property will work for the optimization of the IP system by cooperating with IP Offices worldwide, focusing on patent protection granting.
