Kosovo has completed the legal infrastructure in the field of industrial property

Organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Customs National Council for Kosovo and Industrial Property, Tuesday in Pristina was held conferences
topic: “Intellectual Property Rights”.
 Participants at the conference stressed that intellectual property rights are very important for further development of the Kosovo economy, to promote innovation, protect brands known, encouraging creativity, promoting small and medium enterprises and for fighting informal economy. Moreover, according to them, these rights are very important in the way of Kosovo towards EU membership.
Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Cuneyd Ustaibo, said that this conference marks
starting some other awareness activities to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, namely
Industrial Property Agency will organize the next weeks and months .
Ustaibo also expressed confidence in the process will be cooperation of all stakeholders
relevant institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and the business community .
”As you may be aware of the unauthorized use of the trademark, export , sale of patents
without a license, falsification of piracy and similar phenomena are the preoccupation of many countries the world. It is therefore of utmost importance that these negative phenomena fought in Kosovo”
Deputy Ustaibo said.
Butterflies Hoxha, Director General Agency for Industrial Property, spoke to commitments of this agency within the MTI for the registration and administration of property rights industrial”. This Agency made the registration of trademarks, licenses authorized representatives, did grant patents for inventions and technological changes , protects industrial design and more soon will begin the registration of geographical indications and designations of origin, “said among other things, Hoxha.
She also stated that the Kosovo legal infrastructure that covers the field of industrial property is complete”. Also relevant institutions are well established. Property Agency
Industrial Industrial Property represents the foundation in Kosovo, while the implementation of the rights intellectual property generally depends on other institutions of law enforcement, which in addition other tasks are also responsible for the implementation of these rights. In these institutions do part of Kosovo Customs, Market Inspectorate, courts, prosecutors and police of Kosovo”, said Ms.Hoxha.
The participants in the conference with a speech addressed by representatives of the Ministry of Culture,Youth and Sports, KC, Market Inspectorate, the Court, Prosecutor,
Danish experts from the Office of Patents and trademarks , KCC and KCC
Commerce in Kosovo.
Conference proceedings continued with three professional presentations from Veli Hoti, Kenny Wright and Andrew Andreev.
