DesignView and Tmview are tools developed for an absolutely free and convenient search for registered industrial designs and trademarks of participating offices. Their sources of information are the registers of the participating offices, WIPO and EUIPO.
The tools are expanding – within the first months of 2018 four new national IP offices became members of DesignView and Tmview.
First, as of January 19, 2018, the Indian Intellectual Property Office joined DesignView to share its industrial design information. Also, as of May 28, 2018 the Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro (IPOM) has made its design data available to the search tool.
The Intellectual Property Office of Montenegro and the Chilean National Institute of Industrial Property acceded to the TMview tool on March 12 and April 26, 2018, respectively. It should be noted that users can benefit TMview in at least one official language of each integrated office.
Also, starting from April 23, 2018, the Jordanian Industrial Property Protection Directorate provides access to its trademark and design information on both DesignView and TMview.
With India, Jordan and Montenegro already on board, the DesignView tool now contains data from 65 participating offices and provides information and access to more than 13,6 million designs.
After the accession of Montenegro, Chile and Jordan, TMview now comprises over 49.7 million trademarks and incorporates data from 65 offices around the globe.
