The Government of Canada has notified to the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) a declaration modifying the amounts of the individual designation fee payable in connection with an international application in which Canada is designated, and in connection with the renewal of an international registration designating Canada, under Article7(2) of the Geneva (1999) Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs.
In accordance with Rule28(2)(b) of the Common Regulations Under the 1999 Act and the 1960 Act of the Hague Agreement, the Director General of WIPO has established, after consultation with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the following new amounts, in Swiss francs, of the said individual designation fee:
In accordance with Article30(1)(ii) of the 1999 Act, and as per the declaration received, these new amounts will take effect on January 1, 2020. In this regard, it should be noted that the new amounts will be payable where Canada is designated in an international application whose international registration date is on or after the above date, in light of Article10(2) of the1999 Act.
