On 1 July 2013 four new countries, Croatia, Cyprus, Mexico, and Norway, have made their trademark data available through the online database TMview.
Cyprus and Croatia joined as members of the EU while Mexico and Norway as non-EU countries.
Set up by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, TMview allows businesses to perform a range of actions including checking the availability of an idea, discover services protected by competitors’ trademarks and receive regular updates on them.
29 national offices have joined the online database since its introduction in April 2010.
With the addition of the first trade marks from non-EU Offices, TMview now provides access to approximately 11m trade marks in total.
The tool has received almost 4 million searches from 196 countries.
TMview is available in 24 languages.
