The Government of Colombia has notified to the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) a declaration modifying the amounts of the individual fee payable with respect to Colombia under Article 8(7) of the Madrid Protocol.
As from January 1, 2020, the amounts of the individual fee payable in respect of Colombia will change. Those amounts will be:
- 273 Swiss francs for one class of goods or services and 136 Swiss francs for each additional class, when designating Colombia in an international application or subsequently. Where the mark is a collective or certification mark, the fee will be 363 Swiss francs for one class of goods or services and 181 Swiss francs for each additional class;
- 149 Swiss francs for one class of goods or services and 73 Swiss francs for each additional class, when renewing an international registration in which Colombia has been designated. Where the payment is received within the period of grace, the fee will be 203 Swiss francs for one class of goods or services and 100 Swiss francs for each additional class.
These amounts will be payable where Colombia (a) is designated in an international application which is received by the Office of origin on or after that date; or (b) is the subject of a subsequent designation which is received by the Office of the Contracting Party of the holder on or after that date, or is filed directly with the International Bureau of WIPO on or after that date; or (c) has been designated in an international registration which is renewed on or after that date.
