In 2013, 132 applications on inventions and 40 applications on utility models were filed with the Intellectual Property Agency, out of which 165 by national applicants and 7 by foreign applicants. The total number of applications on inventions and utility models has been 3851 since 1992 as of December 31, 2013.
As compared with 2012 the total number of applications filed has decreased by 10, the number of applications filed by the national applicants is decreased by 10 and the number of applications filed by the foreign applicants remained the same.
For the international applications filed with the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva) according to the Procedure of Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and for the Eurasian applications filed with the Eurasian Patent Office (Moscow) according to the procedure of the Eurasian Patent Convention, the Agency acts as a receiving office only for the nationals and legal persons of the Republic of Armenia as well as for the physical persons having permanent residence in the Republic of Armenia.
