WIPO announced that on October 8, 2013, the Benelux Organization for Intellectual Property (BOIP) deposited its instrument of accession to the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks, adopted at Singapore on March 27, 2006.
In conformity with Article 28(3), the said Treaty will enter into force, with respect to BOIP, on January 8, 2014. On that date and in accordance with Articles 26 and 28 of the Treaty, the Member States of BOIP, that is, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, will become bound by the Singapore Treaty.
