The Office has decided to start making use of the reserve lists resulting from the IP competitions OHIM/AD/01/13 and OHIM/AST/02/13.
The appointment of these officials will have a globally neutral impact on the budget of the Office which is aligned with the austerity measures adopted by European Institutions and applicable to the Office. This is possible because a large number of laureates are already employed in OHIM with temporary working conditions.
This decision will not add resources to the departments, however it will substantially improve the individual situation of a significant number of colleagues, and thus contribute to greater global efficiency, in the interest of the Office.
At a later stage in 2015, the Office will make the most of the limited flexibility provided by the budget in order to recruit some additional officials. If the needs correspond to IP activities, more appointments will be proposed to laureates of these reserve lists. For needs related to support functions, permanents posts are available for the recruitment of officials either from other EPSO reserve lists or by transfer from EU institutions.
In January, OHIM will open the reserve lists in the field of IP to other EU institutions. This might provide opportunities to laureates who are interested in working in Brussels or Luxembourg.
