WIPO Reports Growing IP Filings Worldwide

Geneva, December 11, 2012

The World Intellectual Property Organization reports the continuing growth in numbers of applications for Plant Breeders’ Rights worldwide.

In 2011 the increase in filings amounted for 7.8% – the fastest growth rate since 2007.

The European Union, China, United States of America, Japan and Ukraine are in the lead by the number of applications.
